Down but not defeated.

Khor is a beautiful fair lady. Though she is in her late fifties, she looks so much younger. She has all the beauties of a true hearted woman and yet she is still single, not willing to get marry when she was even younger. The reason was simply Khor was born as a polio victim. Her left leg is badly affected and she has to walk with a limp. With a very inferior complex, she seldom mixes and works independently as a self employed tailor operates through a little apartment.

Her both parents had gone, and all her brothers and sisters are happily married staying on their own, leaving Khor to age by herself. I had a chance to speak with her lately, when i could sense she was speaking with so much of truth from the heart. According to her, she never had many opportunities to speak with men because most males avoided her when they saw her defect. Her heartaches and her mind ponders with sorrow. She never wish to live long in life, as living is miserable to her.

This was what i told her. You are considered a special child at birth. As a polio victim, you live without sin, you speak from the heart whereas most normal people speak with the mind. The heart is always pure and sincere, whereas the mind could be corrupted and sinful in thought. Though you have a deformity on your leg, you have a beautiful heart and soul which is more important. I judge a person not from her look but rather from her within and i am sure there are many wisdom people would think likewise. Khor was flattered and i promised to call her as often as possible to make sure life is worth living no matter what happened.

Specially to my friend Khor - "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."
