Pick the right apples in selling.....

Selling tips...

Our parents used to advise us to mix with the right friends. Good friends will lead you to do well and lazy friends might slow you down. In simple proverb, it said... "One rotten (or bad) apple spoils the barrel."

In selling, it's the same. Mix with the successful sales teams, cause success breads success. Secondly learn to prospect potential good clients. Good clients are those who appreciate your values, willing to listen to your suggestions & advices, reasonable people, understanding & open minded, and most important of all...  have the potential to do well. These classes of good clients are usually under the top 10% of the entire client's base. For these special clients, I will spend most of the time with them. Periodically I will drop by to their offices, to listen and to understand them more. I also consider them as my circles of influence, cause they would lead me to further sales else where.

However when I happened to prospect those unreliable, unfriendly and demanding customers,  I would never make them to my clients. As friends yes but never, I repeat never will I be their sales agent for I know they would make life miserable for me later. I have to accept this proverb in my business to.. "One rotten (or bad) apple spoils the barrel."

I love my mother in law......

According to my good friend Ranjit, a Punjabi by race, he said the mother is always the Queen in the house.

I fully agreed with him. At my home, I have a special wooden plaque, en grafted with these few words... "I am the master of this house, but when my wife says No, I will also say No."

So! The day Ranjit got marry to his beautiful wife 15 years ago, he advised her these few words. They are.. "The Daughter in law who knows how to tackle the Mother in law, is like holding God in you hand."

Being an intelligent wedded wife, who simply understood that statement, both daughter in law & the mother built up fantastic relationship within a very short time. She almost could get whatever she wants, when all the males in the house find it difficult.

For those daughters in law who could understand the above quote and are willing to apply it, you will be the most happiest woman in your husband home. Try if you can and good luck.

If I gave you 2 apples, and another 2 apples and another 2, how many will you have?
Johnny: Six.Teacher: Good. Now if I gave you 2 cats, and another 2 cats and another 2,

Woman's point of view................

Someone sent this to me...

From a woman's point of view;

- The most perfect man in the world is her father

- The most abused husband in the world is her brother

- The most handsome man in the world is her son

- The luckiest and happiest man in the world is her sister's husband

- The most thankful man in the world is her son in law

- And the worst, most selfish, heartless, total jerk and the man with worst behavior in the world is her husband

Me.... I like the top five and dislike the last one...

The Asian Culture of how we bring up our children...

The topic of abusive parents drew much attention lately. Is it true? Personally I think not all places would be the same. Perhaps the West and the East could be different. Being that I'm an Asian, I rather talk about us and let's see how the West could assess us. I'm sure both the West & the East have our strength and weaknesses.

I can't deny there is totally no parents abusing children in our country, Malaysia. It's very scarce and rarely happened. Our laws protect child's abuses, and when parents or adults who are caught for abusing under aged children, the penalty could be very heavy. Culturally and religiously, it's the responsibilities of the parents to bring up good children of them, and it's the obligation of the children to love and care for their ageing parents. It's an honour and pride for the parents to have noble children brought up and it's greatness for the good children to take care of their parents till death.

Our Chinese belief is.. When you love your parents sincerely, you would be blessed with good children later, who would follow your footsteps.

In both our families between myself and our in laws, our children had seen how we cared and loved our parents or their grand parents before. Today my son and his wife, have the same similar hearts like us, when they too took care of both the ageing parents of both side. Lately my daughter in law's mother had just passed away due to cancer, which she was suffering for 10 years. During this period of time, her son, daughter and my son, never complained of taking care of the sickly lady. I was there to observe and to witness, and I was proud to see them giving so much of attention to her. The last two months before she left this world, my grand son and his cousin sister, both of 11 years young only, also took their turns to bathe and clean their grand mum. I could see she was happy to be blessed with such noble children. I could not resist my tears to see my grand children who could emulate our culture of loving the elders. I am not a wealthy man but God had really blessed me with such lovely children and grand children. I really can't be asking more now. Deep in my heart I wish this sharing could touch everyone, whether you are from the East or the West.

To my good readers, Wan, Adel, Michelle, Raj or Sumukh and others who are from Asia, I am sure you have something to say too about our Asian Culture of how we live with our parents.

Does Passion comes with luck???

The last two days I was bombarded with comments related to 'parents & children'. It won't be possible for me to reply all individually, but indeed I had learned much from these younger generation of today's world. Thank you so much for all your contribution.

Perhaps today I might try to find a way to see whether I could solve everybody's needs and  problems. Recently one special lady asked, "Does passion comes with luck?

Sounded easy but might not be easy either! First, what passion she was referring? The meaning of passion alone is... A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger or could be Strong sexual desire; lust.

If her passion is on love... Yes. Definitely not by hatred. I always believe a passionate person is always a lucky person. Luck only comes when one works hard. In our sales term, when a salesperson who calls enough prospects, his sales will grow. You might consider him as lucky but in actual fact he works hard to achieve his target. Luck will never be there when nothing is done. Right?

Why is it so, 'A passionate person is always a lucky person'? When a person has love in his or her heart, on whatever they conduct or perform, they usually do it well with full commitment. Example.. Please look at me. My heart is full of love, willing to give more than to receive. Reaching 65 and yet be able to sell untiringly. Reason, the passion in heart thrills me to move aggressively, even the younger agents loose out. Most of my fellow colleagues thought that I am lucky, but in fact passion is the factor.

Now! What has Passion got to do with parents & children? I have three grown up sons, two daughters in law,  two ex-daughters in law and five grand children. And many many dears, honeys, darlings and one sweetheart. Believe me all of them love me so much. The simple reason is, I have passion for them. I have the patience ear to listen and a powerful mind to understand, plus a willing heart to give. Nothing will block me to make them like and love me. Am I lucky? Yes! Thanks God for blessing me with this miracle of passion, which I word them as A Powerful Emotion as Love.

My wonderful readers, this Passion is free and you don't need to pay a dime to get it. It's always  in your heart and mind. Just that you have a choice, whether you are willing to give it out as  'love or hatred'. If you are willing to think and apply Love as the right emotion to release into your system or into your life, then you would be bestowed with more luck and happiness all round. Please try and let me know what's the result... Ya?

Demanding parents and the effects on their children

My yesterday post "Woman with 10 grown children collects recyclable items to survive" created much attention. I'm overwhelmed with excitement because I had a record comment for more than 50 in number. Normally readers would read and very seldom they would take the trouble to add a few words under the comment column. Without me realising, this topic caught me with surprise, when worldwide readers spoke their view and thought.

When I first read the early few comments, I was a bit upset with how the younger generation behaves. However when finally I read all of them, I began to understand and to appreciate their contribution which were frank and truthfully expressed in mind and heart. They were from all over the world and I'm sure these are factual and real. Perhaps they were never given a chance or a platform to speak their thoughts. By chance when this topic was posted, they were brave and courageous to show their frustration and dissatisfaction between parents and children.

In life, not all parents are right and not all children are perfect too. In most cases, parents always assume they are good parents and they expect their children to love them. And most children who might be unhappy toward their parents, also find it difficult to relate their problems to the ageing parents. Reading their comments today, I could understand them better now. They had helped me to be more of a likeable and lovable father from now onwards. I hope all parents or future parents would read all those comments written. I can assure you, they might change your entire mindset and eventually be more of an understanding parent.

To all my readers who had commented, I offer to you my most sincere appreciation. You really had taught me greatly in many ways. Thank you so much.
