MMQ ...What is the meaning of life?

I wrote a title, "What is the meaning of life?" on 23 Nov & yesterday a good friend, Maram commented with his beautiful insight onto it. I can't resist not to share his words with everyone. Allow me to post it please.....

My Dear Bob,
Thank you very much for writing a topic and sharing what you see as the meaning of life. That was exactly how I used to see it too!. Sure rang a few bells to put a smile and giggles in my heart! As life's journey takes its twists and turns, so did my view of life as it traverse from one chapter to another. The objective is to be happy always. To understand the meaning of life, I needed to explore the question of the purpose of life itself. I began to think of our very existence, that everything we see and have around us is designed and made by someone, from designer fashion wears to electronics gadgets to spaceships and submarines to atom bombs etc. Then we watch the amazing underwater worlds in National Geographic HD, with unimaginable array of beautiful living things, the lives of incredible creatures in the wild etc. This thing called Earth is so incredible and yet is but only one component of the huge universe. Then it dawned on me that there must be a creator designer of all these great universe and its contents! No chance that all these came into being by chance. Certainly not!. I am fully convinced that there is one creator of all this, the whole comprehension of it is way beyond human capacities. Today we dont know so many things because the body of knowledge in this world is too huge for man to fathom all. So, to me, to understand the meaning and purpose of life, we need to go back to basics ie to understand life itself from its origins to its final destination! And it is not complex at all!. Sounds like a heavy subject or task indeed, but on the contrary it is as simple as can be!! It starts from self exploration, and then look at our surroundings. From there, the answers will come to you as you continue to search for the one and only one Creator of the worlds. Common sense will tell us that there cannot be more than one, or the world/universe would be very difficult to manage as it has to be perfect in its execution!Yes nothing less than perfection! When I understand life, then perhaps I will be able to truly achieve happiness, not necessarily the happiness in the dimension that most will define today. Most of us are too busy with our daily challenges, as I was before, to be able to dwell into these "other" VERY CRITICAL QUESTIONS ON OUR LIVES. Those who do will find their real meaning and purpose of life. TQ

Daughter in law stole my son.

Hey there! Are you having grown up children who are married? Be careful! If you cannot get along with the "in-laws" you stand a chance to loose the sons & the daughters.

Madam Chan has two sons who used to love their mother so much. She was a proud mum, when all relatives were so envy on her because her sons not only were intelligence, they were obedient and caring for the widow parent. Their mother's interest was always first and important, and without the mum's decision on any matters, the sons would be patience to wait. The family of three were happily united, until they got married. Alas! Things changed when two extra females came into their homes. The new ladies of the house equally love these two nice sons, or i should say they love them even more. Mother could only love them from the outside, whereas the other women gave their entire souls and bodies to the husbands. Mother became possessive when emotional love turned more to jealous and anger. Soon the three women of the once warm home became cold and violent. They quarrelled, argued and showed temper. To make matters worst, the sons stood on the wives' sides, hurting the old lady beyond doubts. Soon the family was breaking apart without a solution, when the sons and wives left their old home. The aging mother was left alone to fence for herself. The most happiest mum at one time has broken her heart today. Reason... The daughters in law have stolen her good sons away.

This is true fact of life and to avoid such unnecessary problems, learn to love your future in-laws. I have two ex-daughters in law and two current daughters in law who love me so much because i never in the first place behaved like a father in law ever since i knew them. I treat them like my best friends when i joke and have laughter all the time and i love them more than their own parents. Yes! These ladies have taken my sons from me, but they haven't taken away my love away from my sons. Haha!!!

I like these two quotes - "Behind every successful man stands a surprised mother-in-law" (Hubert Humphrey) & "The difference between in-laws and outlaws is...outlaws are wanted!"

Successful selling goes without discounting.

Selling tips....

Many rookie agents used to ask this unavoidable question; "Are you giving discount?" Me! I don't because once you make it a practice, you have to give it all the time to those who purchase your products.

Commission is our earning, our life blood, our food and incentives to work. Not forgetting as life insurance agents, we have no salary, allowance and bonus. We are not employees of the company but rather as contracted agents to represent a principle to solicit their products in range. We are considered as self-employed and professionals by our own.

In my early years in this business, if clients could have asked this discounting issue, this was my answer to them. "I am sorry i can't give any discount because i need to do well and stay in this business as long as possible. Giving the discount might not allow me to earn more to provide my family a better & comfortable home. Giving the discount might deprive my dreams for my children to do well in their studies. Giving the discount might encourage me to look for another job because i earn lesser. By not giving discount you let me stay in this challenging business. By not giving discount you let me grow further with hopes and values. By not giving discount you let me stay permanently to serve you whenever you need me now or later of our lives."

My above principle of no discounting when i sell is proven with my twenty eight years of successful selling of life insurance. The total earning received allows me to serve and service all my clients with pride and honour. I have developed myself to be competent and knowledgeable in my practices, thus be able to protect and care for all concerns to the highest level. I could perform and deliver my promises because they had paid me in full willingly.

To all my fellow colleagues, if you intend to stay in this business be firm as what i had written. No discount please but make sure you serve with a smile.

A friendly advice - "Don't deal with a buyer who doesn't pay but expects much."

Humiliated, I learned to be stronger.

An incident i won't forget.

I started to learn selling life insurance 28 years ago. Full of enthusiasm and energy, i was prepared to be trained and guided in everyway possible. Those days, training and motivation classes were limited. The best way was to read and see the available books and video pertaining to the greatness of other agents of the West.

One day my immediate agency manager suggested that i should approach the top sellers of the company for tips and advices. Why not? On a day of our company annual convention, all qualified Star Producers were invited to a grand dinner for the night. I was one of them, a rookie agent who by chance managed to make it for that 1st year. I was too eager to rub shoulder with all those so called top producers those days. I told myself that i ought to meet the Champion. With some courage, i managed to see this great agent who was mixing around with all his buddies then. I approached him with a broad smile, together with a warm handshake to congratulate this senior veteran of our business. I was told he was already in selling for more than 15 good years with our company.

During the short chat with him, i eagerly asked this question, "What is the secret of your success in selling life insurance Hero?" Staring at me, he said," Drink my glass of whisky and i would tell you!" I was stunned and caught in despair with his response. I told him that i am a non drinker but willingly to learn from him. He was laughing loudly. He continued saying, "If you respect me, you would drink it. Bottom up!" All his surrounding colleagues supported him too. Repeatedly these words sounded, "Drink! Drink! Drinkkkk!" Giving me no choice under such circumstances, i grabbed his glass and forced myself to drink the unfriendly whisky of his.

As soon as i finished his drink, he sounded this unforgettable statement till today i will still remember, "The secret of success in selling life insurance is to drink whisky and beer all the time!!!!" With the cheeky laugh, they moved away from me. I was disgusted and humiliated by these group of successful professionals.

Conclusion: He was selfish and unwilling to share. Though he might be successful in business, his heart wasn't rich. Thanks God! He left our business few years later and ventured into some other businesses.

Though it was my unforgettable experiences, it taught me that one should not be humiliated when that person had the humbleness to ask for favour. Ever since then, i promised myself that if i do well in life, i would share all my experiences and wisdom to those who need them.

Quoted on my name card, i wrote - "My Belief - I must help people without people asking."

A piece of paper could sell million.

Selling tips...

What can a piece of 5"x 8" blank paper be used? You might think it's worthless, except scribble a few words or notes on it. You might not believe me! I had made million sales out from this simple white paper.

Ever since forty three years ago when i started to work in the sales force, i had been carrying a piece of paper on me all the time. Before i leave the house, i make sure this 5 by 8 piece of paper be folded into half, and be kept in my shirt's pocket (all men working shirts have a small pocket on the upper left). Inside my wallet, i have another spare piece too. Parked besides this paper is my Parker Pen of twenty years old to go along with.

This paper comes very handy when with friends or anyone who need to jot a few points during a discussion. Imagine you are having a short chat with your clients and you want to show your ideas but you guys don't have any paper to spare. Perhaps you could look around or request for one but by the time you reach to have one piece, the mood and ideas might have forgotten in your mind. Hit your ideas when they are boiling hot. Right? Me! Luckily i have this paper with me all the time. I could be able to illustrate and demonstrate my views instantly across through the layout on the paper. Believe me! I had sold many plans by writing on this mere white paper. Magic it is!!!

The paper has helped me to write names and contacts while on the move. Most of my blog ideas are gathered while i am driving, and this one paper helps to keep the stories. I had given this tiny paper to Minister, CEO, Chairman right down to the ordinary men on the road before. Reason...at the time when they needed something to write, they didn't have paper and mine became a valuable piece. You might have all the ipads and high tech mobiles, paper is still the best way to express your thought at that moment of time.

Something i learn -
"Success is not defined by obtaining everything you want, but by enjoying and appreciating everything you want. Learn to enjoy what you have."

What is the meaning of life?

A good friend, Maram was trying to test me with this unique question; "What is the meaning of life?" Sounds simple and yet very philosophical in thought. He wanted me to write with smiles and giggles all round. Let me try young man...

When i was a little boy, all i wanted in life was to do well in studies, be obedient to my parents, helping my dad's coffee shop, catching the right spider to win all the times, making the strongest kite and be the champion of tops playing.

Ooop! Time passed so rapidly. In my teen age while still in secondary school, life was all about learning to dance the char char, rumba and the crazy 'Shake'. These dances made me popular when i got to know many girlfriends. Studies were neglected.

Reaching 21, Life was freedom when the independent key was given. Life was to seek for job. Though at that time getting employment wasn't easy, i landed myself to be a young salesperson selling office equipments. So innocent and naive, i realised the working world wasn't that easy after all. I was taught the vices of everything available. Wine, women and music were the main issues all the time. I learned to gamble too. The most favorite game among the sales people was the poker cards. This poker taught me to have a poker face and to understand others as well. Life at this stage was to make money, immaterial from any sources.

I got marry quite young. Husband at 23 and one year later i became a young father. Having a family to raise made me more serious in life. I became more responsible, more hard working and committed. Life was to see that my children had a future. I became more caring and loving. Seeing my children grew made me understand the value and hope for others.

Sixty three of my best part of life had just gone by. Any regret over it? No! Not at all because it taught me to appreciate life better. Life is a journey to me. It hasn't ended yet because my journey is getting even more interesting and exciting. What is life to me at the moment? Life is to stay healthy as long as possible and yet be able to help those around you. Money isn't that important any longer when my career became my hobby and interest. I don't need to dance to be popular among ladies because i have the wisdom to draw the attention from those lucky ladies i know today. Life is fun
and laughter. The more we have, the more cheerful and happy we are. Right Maram?

Specially for my great friend, Maram - "It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth -- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up -- that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had" - Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Hugs and kisses are better than frog.

A lady friend was lost with these quotes; “If you eat a frog first thing in the morning, the rest of your day will be wonderful.” and “If you have to eat a frog, don’t look at it for too long.” These quotes are from Mark Twain.

She seek my enlightenment. In simple terms, they mean ...Your frog for today - looking all ugly and nasty on your plate - is the most important, most challenging, the biggest and hardest task you could possibly do. Now imagine finishing that task early in the morning, before you do anything else. Don’t think about it twice, just start working on it and don’t stop until it is finished. It will give you a great sense of accomplishment for the rest of the day and if you keep this momentum going you will have a very productive day.

However when she applied them on her children, they didn't seem to work. The children were saying it's damn silly to eat frog in the first place. There is no frog available and why should we eat frog!!! The mother was at lost again.

Oooop I see! It didn't work ah? Try this then... If you allow me to hug you tight with a warm kiss on the lip first thing in the morning, the rest of your day will be wonderful. She understood it so well and immediately applied it every morning to all children. So why frog when kisses and hugs are free?

Do you know
- "A kiss without a hug is like a flower without the fragrance."

Oral Contraceptives: The Societal and Health Impacts

A reader Kristin Davis who likes to share her topic on women's health as my guest blogger for today. This is what she wrote......

Sexual responsibility remains a major topic for women today, especially with the increasing number of birth control options on the market. Unfortunately, receiving unbiased information regarding healthy sexuality is difficult because contraception has become such a profitable business. Although condom advertising remains common, oral contraceptives are the modern contraceptive alternative many women choose and receive the highest levels of promotion. Unfortunately, most users remain oblivious to this method’s limitations.

For birth control pills especially, a serious lack of available information regarding their effectiveness and safety remains. While appealing because of their easy use, effectiveness and affordability, it’s important to realize that because of this drug’s popularity, oral contraceptive sales have become a major industry with huge profit potential. Drug manufacturers now promote their products heavily and regularly encourage health facilities to do the same. The U.S. government even endorses the use of these drugs, encouraging their use in family planning clinics targeting indigent, unmarried women.

Unfortunately, this heavy marketing can mislead young women, who might believe these products are total health safeguards. Furthermore, many manufacturers advertise their products as treatments for additional health conditions, including acne and depression. Although these products have led to the welcome decline in unwanted pregnancy throughout the U.S., the increased rate of sexually transmitted disease might actually be a result of misconceptions regarding these products. Young women protected from pregnancy might be emboldened to have unprotected sex, believing disease prevention is just one more benefit of these “miracle drugs.”

Indeed, manufacturers of these contraceptives have little reason to dispel these misconceptions and hurt their profits. In truth, several manufacturers have contributed to the widespread misconception surrounding their products, regularly failing to point out important details regarding safety. One oral contraceptive producer, Bayer HealthCare, was even cited by the FDA for deceptive advertisements they produced. Labeling their products a total quality-of-life enhancement, the FDA found these ads further misled teens with unproven claims. In addition, Bayer was cited for substandard conditions in a plant that manufactured these drug ingredients. However, the company’s annual multi-million dollar advertising campaigns continue to overshadow these revelations, preserving its product popularity.

Although this lack of corporate integrity is alarming, the severe physical consequence of these drugs is even worse. Oral contraceptives literally alter women’s hormones and can actually cause permanent side effects, like infertility. Originally introduced in the 1960’s, recent evidence links the use of these drugs with the increased rate of cancer in U.S. women. Although easily dismissed by their harmless appearance, these drugs literally upset many significant aspects of women’s physiology while misleading the body into believing it is pregnant.

Mounting Yaz lawsuits today highlight just how serious the health consequences of these pills are. Users of Yaz, the most popular oral contraceptive currently sold, have experienced severe side effects including heart attack, stroke and gallbladder disease, with some cases even ending in death. However, until the seriousness of sexually transmitted disease is recognized, pregnancy prevention will continue to be the focus of young women, to the exclusion of other risks.

Although instances of unwanted pregnancy have declined recently, rates of sexually transmitted disease continue to climb. This might be explained by society’s views toward sexuality and which behaviors are acceptable and which remain taboo. While society still holds strict stigmas regarding unintended pregnancy, sexual promiscuity has largely been validated in our culture. This inconsistency is ironic because sexual promiscuity is arguably more dangerous than unintended pregnancy. While young women have several safe options in the event of an unwanted pregnancy, women who become infected with these diseases risk permanent harm to their bodies and might continue to spread their illness.

Furthermore, popular drugs preventing pregnancy can lead to severe consequences themselves. Unfortunately, with this fixation to avoid pregnancy, many women ignore these other serious physical risks. Based on recent health data, it is obvious that measures to prevent pregnancy do not ensure safety from disease as well. Unless women are made aware of oral contraceptive limitations and dangers, the production of these products will remain extremely lucrative and the related health trends will undoubtedly continue to escalate.

Passion & Love in selling.

Selling tips...

If you are new in selling life insurance, selling those 'first' policies to your friends could be easy. Cash and incentives are the prime mover. They create the drive to make you sell and sell. How long would this last? Perhaps few weeks to about three years, depending on the amount of friends you have.

Next! If you intend to stay longer or to remain permanent in this challenging career, you need more than cash & incentives to make you stay. To be able to sell more than one policy to your clients, you need to have 'Passion and Love'. A repeat sale on an existing client seems easy because the client could have known you better now. On the hand if you have the chance to sell even more plans and covers to one family, you have to be serious in every way. Can you remember what had been transpired all these years with your clients and their families? Do you know what are their aspirations and dreams? Can you feel for their happiness and sorrow as they walk their lives together with you? Were you there when they fell and when they rose were you there to cheer? Most likely you know how the new insurance and benefits work, but could you still be able to remember those old plans and entitlement that you have sold to them years back? Can you remember how many times they had been admitted for being seriously sick? Do you know when the master of the house is retiring? Do you know when their children are going for their further studies, when heavy financial needs are required? When their children are turning violence or rebellious, were you there to provide counselling and advices?

See! Selling the 'first' policy is definitely easy when you know so little about the clients. To have the repeated sales, you need all the interest and desire to grow with all your clients. This is what i called the 'Passion and Love'. If you don't have them, you would never be able to stay long in this caring business...Life Insurance.

Totally agreed with this quote - “Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion” - Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.

How do you feel when u are cheated?

Would you feel angry, annoyed, upset, frustrated and painful in heart when someone had cheated you? Yes! Most would. One of my dear lady was devastated when she realised she was short changed for some currencies exchange with a recommended money changer in town. By the time she reached home in the night, on calculation she noticed she was short paid for a few hundred. The anger disturbed her entire sleep.

I had a chance to speak to this lady lately, when i attempted to relieve her sorrowful heart. I offered her a question. If i was the one who had given you the cash in the first place and you were still being cheated, would you still be angry like now. Please ponder a moment! Remember the cash was from me. She took a deep breath. Yes! Though the money wasn't mine but because it was given to me, i would still be upset and unhappy over it. The pain might be less painful perhaps.

Next question to her. Okay! If i could have given the money to an elderly monk and he too was cheated in the same manner like you.... Do you think he would be as angry and upset like you? My dear lady was speechless. She couldn't answer this unexpected question.

Please allow me to answer. A young monk who has not experienced enough spiritual guidances and teaching might react like you. I believe an elderly monk who lives in simplicity needs no money to survive. He came with nothing, possess nothing and leaves the world without anything. Confronted with the similar situation, he would not be angry with himself or the person who had cheated him. Most likely he might take the experience as a learning process for his spiritual path and would not be angry with the other person either. He would try to forgive and forget. This is the highest point for achieving enlightment in oneself.

The purpose of me writing this topic is to tell my dear lady, Yes! money is important but never let money be the root of all evils. We might not be as spiritual and pure like a highly noted monk but we could try to emulate some of their fine points of life. "Forgive and Forget" is the first step to be wiser, when your mind would feel lighter and the heart is more happier. This is what i called Wisdom of Life my dear.

Specially for this upset lady - "To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. " ~ Lewis B. Smedes

The playful 22 of age... Me!

Let me introduce my younger self. The above photograph was taken when i was only 22 of age then. I displayed this photo on my FaceBook Wall too. Recently some friends posted some comments on it. Like to read them....

Faisal Renzo..
BT1999...nice number..hehe

Robert Foo..
Ayah! my younger brother there lah.

Namsai Cheong..
WoW! Like Elvis.

Robert Foo..
More than Elvis..coz he didn't know how to sell life insurance though he used his mouth to sing only. He touched people's heart. Me too!

Namsai Cheong..
Cool! but you look more handsome now.

Robert Foo..
Thank you for that truthful compliment. Heart is at age 35 years young currently.

Alvin Foo..
what a shot dad! this is one of my most unforgettable shot of you. From this angle, it looks like Caldwin!

Robert Foo..
Tell me son. What do u see in tis shot of your dad at that age?

Alvin Foo..
i see a young man full of aspirations, dreams and energy but lacking the naughtiness and wisdom of your current self. You certainly had came a long way and what you had achieved is nothing short of an inspiration to me. As you continue to get younger, there is so much ahead to look forward to. We still have a long way to go and many more years of staying young at heart with a naughty mind.

Robert Foo..
See! This is what i called "Facial & Personality" studies of a person. By looking at a person seriously, you cld almost see his future and destiny. My past photo outlines my present fate. Yes! Certainly dad has to grow younger in order to last longer.
...............................................................................................................

Though 40 years had passed, when my mind has broadened so much in life. The uncountable mistakes and experiences i had gone through helped me to understand the world better. Not a bit have i regretted myself for the right or wrong doing of my past but certainly i am glad The Universe has given me a chance to live. Mind has been older and wiser but definitely my heart is relatively as young as the one posted up there. May be even more naughtier ....

I strongly believe this quote
- "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover" --Mark Twain

I sell to live longer in life

Today is such a wonderful day because i met up with a long lost friend of 28 years. WongTF had left the country for England six years ago when his business failed after when he was cheated. Armed with only two hands, he managed to turn around and managed to save some money home. Today he is back in KL venturing into some new businesses which might be a good start for him here. He had the thought to buy life insurance currently, because all his previous policies had been lapsed or terminated. Still keeping my telephone number, he contacted me for the intention to purchase insurance from me. Though there were many agents who were trying to approach him, non was able to sell anything to him. Reason; the one person whom he could trust on Life Insurance matter is Robert Foo. Unless he is no longer around.

The above was the exact words of what WongTF related to me. Wow!!! What a joy to hear it! One question from my good friend. He asked me why i am still selling life insurance at my age. Jokingly i said...i know you would be a millionaire again and i have to wait for you to return, so that i would be the first to effect you with the million cover. Haha!!!

This is my real reason. Twenty eight years ago when i sold him his first policy, that was the time i needed the sales so that i could survive. I needed the money to support my family, i needed the cash to make sure my children would be able to complete their education, i needed the incentives to bring a better and healthier life for everyone at home. Thank you WongTF. You had helped me and my family to grow. Today i am still selling life insurance because i needed to live. Talking is my hobby and life insurance allows me to talk endlessly. Thank you again WongTF because by you taking this product from me now, you are putting more hope and value into my life. Your trust and confidence on me energise my thought. Yes! Equally i trust and believe i would live much longer healthily, so that i won't fail you in anyway as we walk the last journey of our lives.

In short; "Last time i sold to survive and today i sell to live."

Do you have a poker face?

Do you have a poker face? Unless you are a good poker player, you won't never have one. Imagine you have an 'ace' opened card but only a 'two' covered bottom. Can you portrait and pretend to be holding a double ace on hand? Or actually having a double ace clip, but react you are not? An effective good poker player, play to his advantage and could possibly win most of the time.

I was a good poker player when i was in the twenties. Though i had not been playing this game for the last 35 years, i believe i still have a poker face. Similarly a good salesperson, knows how to apply his poker face on all his selling. When he meets a new prospect, he knows when to open his mouth. He has the skill to portrait how successful and professional he is or when the time doesn't permit, he could also pretend he isn't selling but deep down in his heart he wants the sales so much. That's what i called a poker face of a salesperson!

A skillful poker player not only has a poker face, he could also see through other players' bottom cards as well. By observing and studying his competitors facial and reaction, he could almost analyse and assess their faults. Selling is quite the same here. A professional salesperson understands the needs and wants of his customers. Everyone has a poker face and its whether one could have a poker's mind to stand an edge over the other person.

Perhaps it's my destiny and fate that i had a chance to play poker when i was young. Today the game has made me stronger in mind, when i know how to protrait and defence myself and to understand another person in front of me better. Do i still play a poker game card? No! Not anymore because i dislike to win cash among friends.

Funny poker quote - "It is easy to smile at an insult and pretend it's funny when the person insulting you is hosing you with money."-Alfred Alvarez

daddy help me please....

Udurawana gets married, and on his wedding night calls his father to get some tips on what to do since he had never been with a woman before....... "So what do I do first?"

His father replies: "Take her clothes off and lay her on the bed".

5 minutes later Udurawana is on the phone again. "She's naked and in bed what do I do now?"

His father can't believe what he is hearing, "Take your damn clothes off and get into bed with her."

After another 5 minutes Udurawana is on the phone again. "Appachchi, I'm naked and in bed with her, what do I do now?"

His father's patience is now running out so he says, "Sh*t son, do I have to spell everything out to you?? Just put the hardest thing on your body where she pees...... Good night"!!!!

Just when his father starts snoring, Udurawana is on the phone again.

"OK Appachchi, I have my head in the toilet bowl what do I do now?"

"Drown yourself, you bloody idiot !"

The Human Tongue

THE TONGUE CAN BE YOUR WORST ENEMY!

Your words, your dreams, and your thoughts have power to create conditions in your life.
What you speak about, you can bring about.

If you keep saying you can't stand your job, you might lose your job.
If you keep saying you can't stand your body, your body can become sick.
If you keep saying you can't stand your car, your car could be stolen or just stop operating.
If you keep saying you're broke , guess what? You'll always be broke.
If you keep saying you can't trust a man or trust a woman, you will always find someone in your life To hurt and betray you.
If you keep saying you can't find a job, you will remain unemployed.
If you keep saying you can't find someone to love you or believe in you, you're very thought will attract more experiences to confirm your beliefs.
If you keep talking about a divorce or break up in a relationship, then you might end up with it.
Turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive and power packed with faith, hope, love and action.
Don't be afraid to believe that you can have what you want and deserve .

Watch your Thoughts, they become words.
Watch your Words, they become actions.
Watch your Actions, they become habits.
Watch your Habits, they become character.
Watch your Character, for it becomes your Destiny .

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settle for.
Thought I would share this with you.

Finally - "Life is like melted butter . . . once things cool down, it can be reshaped!"

Let everyone you meet feel important.

An intelligent lady gave a remark to one of my dear. She said all ladies could easily fall for Robert Foo. Because he has the charm and sweet words from his tongue. Yes! I believe so but not only the females adore me, most gentlemen also love me as well.

Let me share a secret with all of my readers here. When i was a little boy, my mum requested a promise from me. Though she was my adopted parent, an illiterate from China, she had all the wisdom of a great woman. She asked me whether i love her as a true mother. Yes! Yes! Mummy you are my most loved mum. I would always love you. Then she said, if you love mummy please follow my instruction. I want you to treat everyone you meet to be special. Be nice to everyone, whether you know or do not know the person besides you. Treat that person at that moment of time as though is like your own mum. I was puzzled and confused with her explanation! I really didn't understand what mum was saying. Being naive and innocent i promised mum i would do it.

Ever since then i had been practising good manner to others. When i was still young i didn't realise that treating others as important could make life interesting. As i grew this manner became part of me and its natural for me to be able to make people happy. Gradually the manner became my strength when i have the skill and ability to shower all loves and attention to whoever i meet today. My charismatic personality and the passion of words turn everyone engrossed to my presence. Yes Mum! You had given me the touch of Light & Magic.

Learn to say "NO" !!!

To say 'NO' isn't easy, especially when a friend is trying to borrow from you. It took me years to learn not to let money to friends. In fact i had lost many good friends or even clients who had borrowed from me. Being soft hearted with a loose ear, i used to give out cash to those who seemed to be in trouble. Most who could not repay due to many reasons unexplainable, would never come back to me. The worst off was, they totally avoided me by the distance because they felt shameful and afraid to see me again. One of the reason they didn't take the initiative to return the borrowings was they took good friend for granted. So finally i lost all those friends whom i had helped wrongly in the first place.

With so much lessons learned by the hard ways, i have developed a method to counter this problem. Each time when i am being approached again for letting out money, i would ask for one good reason why i should help them. Is better to listen for just the One reason, rather than to listen all the unnecessary problems of theirs, which might not be true in the beginning. I would try my best to listen and to understand. The only reason i could assist them is when they needed money for food, especially when a friend has lost almost everything and the family has no means to survive for the next one month or so. Otherwise, firmly and surely i would say 'NO' to them politely.

Perhaps they might be unhappy and saddened with my unexpected reply but deep down in my heart i know by helping them is like loosing them as friends forever. This is one experience of life, i had to learn the hard way. Is easy to say 'YES' and its so difficult to say 'NO'.

Something i learn with -
"A 'No' uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a 'Yes' merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble" - Mohandas Gandhi

Selling with my heart.

Selling tips....

Many who haven't known and seen me before might taught that i am a big spender in socializing in order to gather my business. Every salesperson has his way to achieve his sales. Some need to drink to build effective so called better relationship with their clients or to smoke for mixing around. Not me! I hate smoking and i might drink a glass or two on special occasions only. I never like late night, so i don't party and drink for the purpose of making my clients happy. Basically i am a homely type of man who loves in door more than anything outside.

Many colleagues used to ask, what makes my clients happy and be satisfied with me. Out of the normal three approaches; 1. Threat 2. Incentive and 3. Love, i fancy Love and Incentive. Love... meaning to give my fullest attention to those i contact with. My heart is sincere and kind towards them all the time. As far as Incentive is concerned, i use my wisdom mind to enlighten them. Helping and assisting them to reach their financial goals and happiness in every way. What about Threat? Yes! Sometimes when they are at the wrong footing and making the unnecessary mistakes of life, i would be there to warn and advise them as a brotherly or fatherly figure.

I have been applying these methods of selling for the past forty three years and they work wonderfully well. Yes! I repeat...No drinking and smoking are needed to sell effectively.

One of my motto is - "In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us" -- Flora Edwards

Do u want your children to be kite or turtle?

This morning a special lady forwarded this question to me; "Do you want your children to be the kite or turtle?" I was a bit puzzled why she asked! Nevertheless i replied her with what was in my mind then.

In simplicity i wrote...."I want my children to fly free & high as like a kite and be slow & steady as turtle." She didn't come back to me and i am wondering whether she understood my statement.

When my children were little boys, i always like them to aim high in life. Though i gave them freedom and let them be free to do whatever they like to aspire, as parent i was controlling them in a certain way. A good kite can fly very high in height when the wind is strong but the kite flier has to be skillful to control its flight. Otherwise without proper control and management, the kite can be blown away from the fearful wind and storm.

Today all my children are grown up adults when they are no longer under my care. They could be intelligent and smart but many a time, i believe they are still making mistakes out of life. Perhaps now, i prefer them to be like the turtle who is always considered as slow but steady. Not forgetting the story of the "rabbit & turtle's" race when the slow and steady turtle eventually won the race against a fast moving rabbit. The rabbit could be intelligence and prideful but it was the patience and persistence turtle that out smart the shameful rabbit.

I hope this simple illustration could enhance this lady thought. Yes! The kite and turtle are both equally important in our lives. My dear there...U owe me a lunch here. Okay?

This proverb will never be forgotten - "Slow & Steady wins the race."

Prospecting makes simple in selling.

Selling Tips...

Prospects are our lives blood in our selling system, especially selling life insurance. The more prospects an agent has, more sales would be gathered. In my early days of this career, my prospecting came together with my sales presentation. Let me show you....

On every case before my actual presentation, i requested a promise from all my potential customers. The promise is: Buy my plan if you think it is useful to you. But if for any reasons they could not pick up the insurance, they have to pay for the cost of my time. The cost is to recommend two of their friends to me, who might benefit from our products. Unless they agreed to my option or request, i would not continue my selling. I just had to stare straight on their eyes for an answer. Believe me...No one said 'No'.

This selling system helped me to save a lot of time without prospecting further. If a new client bought my plan, he became my good friend eventually. If those prospects didn't pick up anything from me, they added on with another two new prospects. The spin over effect was tremendous.

Do i still practise this selling system? No because selling life insurance is my hobby now when my existing clients are proud to introduce all their friends to me. Why? Because i talk wisdom into their lives.

I always keep this in mind - "You cannot fail at prospecting unless you fail to prospect" - David Sandler.

Can u find a husband like this???

HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED OR WITNESSED TRUE AND SINCERE LOVE??

Lovers and spouses are innumerable in this world.... BUT how many of them are true? How many are sincere in their love? How many mean what they say? How many will pack their bags and leave once their love’s leg is amputated? Once their love has a stroke and is paralyzed? Once their love’s face has been distorted in a sudden accident? How many? HOW MANY? Alas. ....... Very few.... very few can look past the ugly outer cover and reach into the inner heart and still love it.... You may fall for the beauty and figure of someone, but in the long run, its ONLY the person’s character and faith that counts... One such beautiful example....

This is the True Love Story I ever heard

She must be lucky.......(Rosemarie “Rose” Siggins)

This is an example of a Tension free family life

She defeats her discomfort

And she is a mother of two

We Shall build a Temple for this Guy

We can Nominate her an Award for her courage towards the Life

Pass this to all u know... married and unmarried... there’s a beautiful lesson to be learned from this guy for us all...

Divine Catholic Inspiration!

MORNING COFFEE IN ROME

Four Catholic men and a Catholic woman were having coffee in St. Peters Square .

The first Catholic man boasts to his friends, "My son is a priest, when he walks into a room,
everyone calls him 'Father'."

The second Catholic man smirks at this and says, "My son is a Bishop. When he walks into a room
people call him 'Your Grace'."

The third Catholic gentleman condescendingly comments, "My son is a Cardinal. When he enters a room
everyone bows their head and says 'Your Eminence'."

Not outdone, the fourth Catholic man says very proudly, "My son is the Pope.
When he walks into a room people call him 'Your Holiness'."

Since the lone Catholic woman was smiling at this exchange and sipping her coffee in silence,
the four men give her a subtle, "Well .........?"

She proudly replies, "I have a daughter,

slim,

tall,

38" DD bust,

24" waist and

34" hips.

When she walks into a room, everybody says, "Oh My God."

The Christian

Sometimes we need to be reminded....

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'

'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits..
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Is corruption avoidable?

Is corruption avoidable? Quite debatable to me. Everyone might think he isn't a corrupted person, until if he is faced with the situation. Including myself, read on to find out.

In our country, talking on hand phone while driving is an offence. Quite recently i was caught by our police in town while talking with my client and i was also the driver then. The fine in court should be RM300 for this offence. Not only i have to pay the fine, i have to waste some time to pay at the police station. To avoid all these unnecessary, i quickly inserted RM10 inside my driving licence which the police officer requested. I need not said a word of explanation and the officer willingly accepted my incentive. This little cash allowed him to let me go free without a summon being issued. Both of us were happy. Willing giver and willing taker.

So! Do you think i was bad to have bribed the officer for my release? I believe those who have never being caught for any police offence before, might think i was corrupted. Otherwise think about it! Would you consider a easier way to relieve your offence if you had the choices? Or are you a firm believer who always go straight in principle no matter how wrong you are? I thought i was until i was faced with this situation.

Moral of the story - nobody is perfect.

Food for thought - “The accomplice to the crime of corruption is frequently our own indifference” - Bess Myerson quotes

Love gifts.

There is a saying; "Love the person when she/ he is around because when they aren't around any longer, you can't love them." How many really understand this statement!

When i was a kid, my mum used to say, no point to cry over my dead body, when you don't love me now. I didn't know the meaning then, until when she was gone later in life. Though she was nagging and scolding me whenever i was naughty and misbehaved, deep down her heart she loved me so much. The love and attention she had given me, helped me to be a better man of today. Is true! I cried when i think of her sometime because i also love her a lot. The sad thing is, i never knew how to appreciate her when i was young. She was a great mother to us.

There is another powerful phrase almost quite related to the above saying. I used to remind all my friends;
"Buy life insurance when you don't need it because when you need it, you can't buy."

Both 'love and insurance' are intangible in kind, which cannot be seen or touch. You can only feel them. Love is an expression of feeling and insurance is the feeling of peace of mind. When you love the someone, saying it now and the sooner the better. When you want to feel secure and be protected, buy the insurance now when you are still healthy and alive. If you combine 'love and insurance' together, they are considered as the best 'love gifts' for everyone on earth.

Food for thought -
"Love is always bestowed as a gift--freely, willingly, and without expectation... We don't love to be loved; we love to love" -- Leo Buscaglia

How to live a healthy & youthful life/

Madam Sin is a proud grand mother because one of her grand daughter got marry last night. I was invited to their wedding dinner where i met the entire Sin's family. Madam Sin is 80 of age. Believe me she looks attractive, blissful and sexy as well. I hadn't seen her children for many years. I was stunned to see her two daughters who were in their mid fifties looked older than the mother there. Everyone was attracted to the grand old lady who kept smiling all the way.

I have known Madam Sin since i was a little boy. When she was around the age of 5o, her husband who was a dentist then passed away. Leaving six young children, she managed to raise all of them. Her late husband had a second wife but she treated her like a sister without jealousy. In fact on the night of the wedding dinner, both these two sisters were sitting side by side. Most other wives would have chased the mistresses away. Not Madam Sin! She has the heart of gold who could understand the giving and taking. Mind you, the second wife though younger in age looks older than Sin too.

I strongly believe why this grand old lady look so much younger is because she is a contented and satisfying person. I had never seen her getting upset, even when she was poor. Her expectation in life is simple, and she doesn't demand from her family. I had never seen her scold her children when they were young, rather she encouraged and inspired them all the time. At the moment, her countless grand children and great grand children love her like a darling of the family.

Why the daughters appear to be older than the mother? Perhaps the reason is, they don't have a happy heart. As being highly educated, their expectation in life is much higher than the uneducated mum. One daughter has a broken marriage and the others are not in good relationship with their spouses. With so much of life conflicts and problems, i am sure they are stressful and unhappy in their own families. A unhappy heart sees an ugly world!

Moral of this story - To live a healthy and a youthful life stays happy.

My Seven Rules to be happy - 1. Never hate. 2. Don't worry. 3. Live simple. 4. Give a lot. 5. Always smile. 7. Have friends like Robert Foo.
