See your children grow......

The above posting was sent to me by my eldest son who has settled abroad with his family. Time really flies and he is already 42 this year. The below words were written to me, which touched my heart and the picture I read really made me feel very good indeed. A proverb says, "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, but could only be felt. So true! For that I would like to share my experience with my readers and hopefully they in turn would reach the final destination of what I am today. Please read and see for yourself

What keeps the doctor away for men???

The old days of saying... "An Apple a day keeps the doctor away" might be not so effective as what you see on top. What say you gentleman?

AN EAGLE KISS....................................................

Freedom and Jeff

Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer.

She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings.

Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery,

it was broken in 4 places.
 She's my baby.
When Freedom came in she could not stand
and both wings were broken. She was
emaciated and covered in lice. We made the
decision to give her a chance at life, so I took
her to the vet's office. From then
on, I was always around her. We had her in a
huge dog carrier with the top off, and it
was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to
lay in. I used to sit and talk to her,
urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay
there looking at me with those big brown eyes.
We also had to tube feed her for weeks.
This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still
couldn't stand. It got to the point where the
decision was made to euthanize her
if she couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't
want to cross that line between torture and
rehab, and it looked like death was
winning. She was going to be put
down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in
on that Thursday afternoon. I didn't want to go
to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't
 bear the thought of her being euthanized;
but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone
was grinning from ear to ear. I went
immediately back to her cage; and there she was,
standing on her own, a big beautiful
eagle. She was ready to live. I was
just about in tears by then. That
 was a very good day.
We knew she could never fly, so the director
asked me to glove train her.
I got her used to the glove,
and then to jesses, and we started
 doing education programs for schools
 in western Washington .
We wound up in the newspapers,
radio (believe it or not) and some
TV. Miracle Pets even did a show
 about us.
In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with
 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I had stage 3,
which is not good (one major organ plus
everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of
chemo. Lost the hair - the whole
bit. I missed a lot of work. When I
felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey
and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would
also come to me in my dreams and help me fight
the cancer. This happened time and time again.
 Fast forward to November 2000
 the day after Thanksgiving,
I went in for my last checkup.
I was told that if the cancer was not
all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last
option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they
did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for
the results. I went in Monday, and I was
told that all the cancer was gone.
So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and
take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty
and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her
up, and we went out front to the top of the
 hill. I hadn't said a word to
Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me
 and wrapped both
her wings around me to where I
could feel them pressing in on my back
(I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she
touched my nose with her beak and stared into my
eyes, and we just stood there like that
for I don't know how long . That was a
magic moment. We have been soul mates ever
since she came in. This is a very special bird.
On a side note: I have had people who
were sick come up to us when we are out, and
Freedom has some kind of hold on
them. I once had a guy who was
terminal come up to us and
 I let him hold her.
His knees just about buckled and he
swore he could feel her power course through his
body. I have so many stories like that..
I never forget the honor I have of being so close
to such a magnificent spirit as
 Freedom.

Learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.....

This posting and proverb are specially for those ladies who are not in good terms with their loved one.

I'm old, short, not handsome, hot temper at time, prideful, arrogance, and yet my little darling loves me madly because she knows how to see my imperfection perfectly.

One of my lady client was celebrating her birthday alone yesterday, because she had a quarrel with her home sweetheart. Upon receiving this cartoon from me, all her anger disappeared with her husband.

I sell love....................................

It had been quite sometime that I wrote on my blog, and many of my keen readers were concerned about my well being. Tell you my friends, I'm always on top of the world. Just that lately I am extremely busy, never had I been so fully occupied in my entire life. They said when you grow older, you would be less busy and more time for yourself. Not me! I think I'm still growing up, rather than growing old. Growing up is by choice, while growing old is mandatory.

Believe me, this happened recently to me. In one of my dream world's night, I received a call from A Boss of The Universal G.O.D. Corporation. Out of the million candidates, HE had chosen me to be a recognised Rep for his corporation. The qualified candidate has to have experienced the "Good & Bad" of our earthly lives. A simple person, not rich, not poor either but have all the fun and humour in him. His heart has to be pure and sincere, and the mind must be willing to give unconditionally. It took HIM sixty five years to endorse my qualification.

On the phone, The Boss who spoke so sweet and blissful, melted my heart when HE gracefully announced my appointment with The Universal G.O.D Corporation. As a Rep I am allowed to sell one of their unique product. There is no basic or any financial return of any kind while selling this product but I know the benefits will be tremendous. The product is L.O.V.E. and I have to sell it without discrimination and prejudice, no colour bar, race or faith.

Lately as A Rep for the corporation, I had been moving around acting as counsellor, preacher of love, fun maker, horoscope and palm reader, graphologist, motivator and guest speaker, fund raiser, fate healer, match maker, job seeker for others, entertainer and actor. Most important of all as a father or brother to whoever I met, when I could sell my miracle product, L.O.V.E. to them.

How I wish one day is 48 hours and not 24.

BTW.... If you need my product, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm just one call or email away. Forgotten to tell you guys, my product is free.

To be successful, look for this woman......

No man can succeed alone and no woman can be happy herself. We need each other. Just like this famous proverb says... "For every successful man, there is always a woman." And I have to add on, "For every contented woman, there ought to have a successful man behind."

I always encouraged all ladies and their men to assist each other. So who is the rightful woman who could help her man to be successful. Is simple yet is so difficult.

The woman who could support her man to excel in life, is one who could inspire him with love and afffection. The inspiration comes with constant motivation and encouragement for her man. By himself, he might easily give up his desire and dreams. By himself, frustration could lead him to failure. By himself, he could not see the inner thought. By himself, most obstacles and problems could be difficult to solve. The beauty of the woman he loves is different. Cause the charm and tenderness of love from this special woman could brighten an upset mind, and the sweet and inspiring words could motivate his desire to move again. No other person is willing to offer this assistance constantly, except the woman who truly loves him without condition. Yes! As I said earlier, is simple yet so difficult because where to get this special woman! And that's the reason most men find it difficult to attain success in their lives.

For the gentlemen. In case if you have the woman now, be fair to her. Love her madly and be sincere with your love. Never take her for granted and treasure her like a diamond. Cause at the end, she would lead you to achieve success and happiness.

BUT remember... "Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman too."

I follow my dreams too.......

A dream I fulfilled...

I was in the third year in my insurance career, when I had qualified for my full fledged member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)  from The States. I was the first agent of my company to have qualified for this international membership. Those days we had to qualify for two consecutive years to make it as full qualifying member. Within a short time, I became the pet of the CEO then.

One day the CEO was talking to me. I remembered he said, "No successful agent can be selling too long in the business. One day when you have ran out of prospects or friends, you may find it difficult to secure sales. The better way is to recruit and train others to sell for you."

My answer to him was, "No boss! My first aim is to be a Life Time Qualifying Member of MDRT. The requirement is to qualify six consecutive years in the business. I had done 2 and I need another 4 years." Boss was laughing, "No one has done it here Robert."

In my mind I said, "Let me prove to you I can. Not only 6 years qualifications but a life time qualifying until my last breath." At that time I was only 37 years young.

Later in my 7 years in the business, my boss sent me a big congratulatory message with a few words added, "Robert! I salute to you. U had certainly proved me wrong."

Today, I had qualified the MDRT for 30 years repeatedly without fail and still enjoy every moment of my career. My dream was to sell life insurance to every corner of my country where there are people who need to listen and to understand what's life insurance is all about. I have accumulated thousand of clients who are my friends now and they too enjoy my bonding as agent to them.

The story I posted yesterday really helped me 30 years ago. I was highly inspired and motivated by Monty Roberts desire to fulfill his personal dream. As what he concluded, "Don't let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what."

Follow your dream.......................

In most of my motivating talks, I always like to share this story which I gathered more than 30 years ago. Let me share it with you today....

Follow Your Dream by Jack Canfield.

I have a friend named Monty Roberts who owns a horse ranch in San Ysidro. He has let me use his house to put on fund raising events to raise money for youth at risk programmes. The last time I was there he introduced me by saying, "I want to tell you why I let Jack use my house. It all goes back to a story about a young man who was the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go for stable to stable, race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As a result, the boy's high school career was continually interrupted. When he was a senior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.

That night he wrote a seven page paper describing his goal of somebody owning a horse ranch. He wrote about his dream in great details and he even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch, showing the location of all the building, the stables and the track. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4,000 square foot house that would sit on the 200-acre dream ranch.

He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day he handed it in to his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front page was a large red F with a note that read, "See me after class."

The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, "Why did I receive an F?" The teacher said, "This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. You come from an itinerant family. You have no resources. Owning a horse ranch requires a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for the original breeding stock and later you'll have to pay large stud fees. There's no way you could ever do it." Then the teacher added, "If you will rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider your grade."

The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He asked his father what he should do. His father said, "Look son, you have to make up your own mind on this. However, I think it is a very important decision for you."

Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no changes at all. He stated, "You can keep the F and I'll keep my dream." Monty then turned to the assembled group and said, "I tell you this story because you are sitting in my 4,000 square foot house in the middle of my 200 acre horse ranch. I still have the school paper framed over the fireplace." When the teacher was leaving, he said, "Look, Monty, I can tell you this now. When I was your teacher, I was something of a dream stealer. During those years I stole a lot of kid's dreams. Fortunately you had enough gumption not to give up on yours."

Don't let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.

A sincere heart, creative mind and a sweet mouth I am.....

Selling tips..........

I was asked this question by some rookie agents. What's the secret to be successful in selling life insurance on a long term basis?

My answers are quite simple. Have a sincere heart, creative mind and a sweet mouth.

They were scratching their heads, not knowing exactly what they are!!!

A sincere heart is one who is kind, willing to serve, have plenty of love and happiness to share. If one has love in the heart, he is usually creative, intelligent and smart. Smart people are fun and exciting people. They speak with joy, inspiring, full of enthusiasm and humorous.

So! If you are so kind hearted, so wise and so sweet with your words, how could you fail in any career!!!

Would you agree there?

AWESOME Twin Girls.....

Amazing... read on please & it's not an April Fool's joke.

Twin girls, Brielle and Kyrie, were born 12 weeks ahead of their due date. Needing intensive care, they were placed in separate incubators.

Kyrie began to gain weight and her health stabilized. But Brielle, born only 2 lbs, had trouble breathing, heart problems and other complications. She was not expected to live.

Their nurse did everything she could to make Brielle's health better, but nothing she did was helping her. With nothing else to do, their nurse went against hospital policy and decided to place both babies in the same incubator.

She left the twin girls to sleep and when she returned she found a sight she could not believe. She called all the nurses and doctors and this is what they saw.

As Brielle got closer to her sister, Kyrie put her small little arm around her, as if to hug and support her sister. From that moment on, Brielle's breathing and heart rate stabilized and her health became normal.

Share the pic to show the world how a little bit of tender love and affection can save someone's Life.

The Timing for success....

Recently I met Ricky, a friend I haven't seen for the past 15 years. We had a long chat, catching up with lost time. Thirty years ago, when I first known him, he was only a young salesman. Today at age 65, he is a wealthy successful business man. He shared with me his success.

According to Ricky, three elements of life are important factors for one to do well. They are Time, Environment and Contacts. 30 years ago he got a job selling water tanks. The products were not wanted, and he found it so hard to sell. The Australian Company who employed him also terminated the distribution right to sell these water tanks. Ricky was asked to leave the job too. Few years later, he went to England to see the manufacturer for making these specialised water tanks. Out of his enthusiasm and effort, this company appointed him to be the sole distributor for selling their products in Malaysia. Upon coming home, he ganged him with few friends and began to promote this new venture again. Surprisingly sales caught up when there were many enquiries for water tanks then. At that time, our country was facing water shortages and water filtration was equally bad. Being that their products were specially made, they catered the needs of  our consumers. With his previous working experiences, he managed to appoint many of his old contacts to become wholesalers who supported him whole heartily. Today, his products sold by itself.

Ricky made it with the three elements, striking at the right timing. Yes! They are Time, Environment and Contacts.

I fully agreed with him too because thirty years ago when I first started to sell life insurance, nobody wanted to listen to me. I had to work like a dog before I could secure a sale. Today, everyone including small children could understand what is insurance. Today, I no longer need to promote my products and to market myself, my clients buy because they need them. You can consider Ricky and me as lucky, but we still claimed that it was The Time, Environment and Contacts that helped us to be successful.

Financial Confidence comes with success....

Are you a highly qualified person, has plenty of knowledge, skillful in your work, good personality, speak well and yet lack the personal confidence in yourself? If the answer is a yes, I think I know the reason.

Reason is because you don't have much saving. In the course of my selling of life insurance, I used to emphasize to all my young clients to save. You don't need to have the million to consider yourself rich and financially sound. What they got to do is to save a minimum of six months of whatever they are currently earning. Say you are earning an income of 2000 a month, your saving accounts should be at least 12000. Once you have this minimum amount, your mind would create a feel good feeling in yourself. You know if you loose the job, or the boss fires you, the minimum saving you have, will cushion your needs for another six months. You won't have the fear, but rather you speak more confidently. The feeling offers you the pride, gives you the sense of freedom because you have the personal financial backing. Otherwise, just the knowledge and skill in your work alone might not make your a total confident person.

Ah! Forgotten to tell you this... The man who has the solid saving normally has the confidence to win ladies as well. So! If you intend to do well, have a lot of admirers and consider to be successful, save the minimum of that six months of whatever you are earning, and Magic would instantly appear right in front of you. Don't forget to let me know too. Okay?

Dashrath Manjhi, the Man who Moved a Mountain - Inspiring story

People often ask : How can I make a difference in the world ?
I am just one person among billions of others, what could I possibly do that would change anything?
Everyone else should have to change in order for me to make a difference.

Well, here is a story of a man who single-handedly moved a mountain!

Please read and share... :) Inspiration is contagious !
About five decades ago, a landless farmer, Dashrath Manjhi from Gahlor Ghati of Gaya, Bihar decided to take into task the difficulties of his villagers who were almost cut off from the rest of the world by rocky hills, almost making the place impassable.

Around 1959, his wife passed away from illness and lack of immediate medical care when there was no way of taking her to the nearest medical centre over the 300 feet high hills. Heartbroken after her death, Manji alone resolved to create a pass so that no one person would have to suffer the fate that his wife did. He sold his goats to purchase chisel, rope and a hammer. This sudden change in his demeanour made him a laughing stock with people who laughed at him, calling him eccentric and crazy.

Unfazed by their remarks, Manji hammered away with consistent determination for 22 years. At the end of his arduous labour, he finally came face to face with his dream: the OTHER SIDE of the HILL! He shortened the distance from 70kms to just ONE KILOMETER, 16ft wide!

Once this task was accomplished, Dashrath Manji became known as the Mountan Man. Sadly, this amazing man breathed his last on August 18, 2007 after fighting cancer at New Delhis AII India Institute of Medical Sciences and received a proper state burial.

Dashrath Manji, a man who was mocked and ridiculed for his strong will and determination leaves behind a legacy of strong will and determination.

Some invaluable lessons to learn from this Legend:
1. Patience is the greatest virtue that leads us to success
2. Dream the impossible!
3. Attitude Matters.
4. Stay Positive.
5. Don't lose heart if people call you mad and crazy for your unique idea/thoughts.

Positive words have effects.....

Whenever I meet young people who say... "I hope or I pray or I guess that I would succeed....!!!", I always try to rephrase them with... "I will succeed...!!!"

Hoping or praying or guessing aren't positive remarks. By hoping you might have a choice of getting or not getting what you intend. Praying is unsure either. Guessing is even worst cause the end result is uncertain too. On the hand by saying, "I will or I can" definitely is more affirmative. The will and can trickle the mind more firmly, they endorse a stronger action for a positive result.

So the next time when a question is put forward to you, dare to reply with... "Yes! I will" or "Sure! I can". And you see for yourself how those words could lift up your thoughts and aspiration.

Food for thought - "Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another" - Napoleon Hill.

Success comes along with manhood..

CW and Ariff are successful young entrepreneurs whom I have known for the past several years. The flashy cars they are driving could tell how aggressive they are. They are always on the move, speak well and have a dynamic personality. Except they have no time to exercise, and without them realising they are constantly abusing their physical in order to achieve their goals.

In order to frighten their thoughts, this was what I shared with them. I asked both of them this question: If there was a rule that specified that when you achieve success, you aren't allowed to own and drive your dream cars (BMW or Ferrari) , except to drive a small car like The Kancil. Would you be happy?

Both replied No. They were very honest and truthful. When they first started to work, they were driving old second hand motor car. They were not complaining because they had very little saving then. Not today because they had climbed the ladder of success, and financially they are certainly rich and wealthy now. Is natural that they have the desire to fulfill their dreams and want. Driving their BMW and Ferrari are satisfying at the moment.

I continued... If you have money and cannot drive your dream cars, you will be unhappy. What about when you reach 65 like me, when you are even more successful than today, filthy rich and wealthy than what you have now but your unhealthy physical doesn't allow you to have sex and you are also surrounded by many beautiful ladies who beg you to romance with them. Would you be happy??

Both couldn't answer that simple question!!! Reason because they are not that old yet. On their face I told them... If that happened, you would cry and your heart would be sorrowful. You have all the money, fame and glory but your little brother could not get the erection because you have abused and took him for granted when you were young. The pain would be just like having success but cannot drive your dream cars now.

My advices to my dear friends... Be a rounded person. Yes career is important but health is even more important.

No salary but it pays by the Millions later...

A young friend is offered a job without salary while on training. He doesn't seem interested, and not willing to take up the challenge. In order to motivate him, I gave him my story.

Thirty years ago, I took up a job without salary too. During the probational period, I had to learn and to attend endless classes. My wife was very sceptical then, cause I had to feed a family of five. How could I maintain the family without salary? I didn't give up, though the journey was tough. Day was on training and the rest of the day was working outside to see people. Within a year on this job, I was already earning much more than my General Manager of the company. Later my job allowed me to send all my children to study abroad, and I had a chance to travel round the world many times.

What job was that, asked the young man. I told him, I sold life insurance. As an agent, we aren't paid with a salary but rather we are paid by the commission. Yes! There was no salary but the sky's the limit for us to earn. Young man, you might not be getting a salary while on training currently but if you are smart enough this training might help you to earn the millions later. So! Be patience and think about it!

All successful people have positive mind....

A young friend is moving to another foreign land to seek for his fortune. Before he left, I left a few words for him to remember. I told him..."Believe you are a successful person and you would become one. Be always positive son".

Reluctantly he said..." Yes! I will be one then".

My advices... "Thoughts are important in our daily lives. From thoughts come our action. When our thoughts are weak, our action will be weak and soft as well. The smarter guys think positively and their action are much more powerful".

With hesitation he replied again... "I know its difficult but I would try to learn and practise to stay positively".

My final suggestions... "You have the choice to think. Is your own mind. Delete the weak thoughts and change them to be good and pleasant to feel. Mixing with negative friends would also influence your  thinking. So be smart, have positive friends like Robert Foo".

I bid farewell to him... "Son come back with the success and I know you will make it".

Teacher is the most noble profession of all.

YCLim is one of my respectful client. He has been teaching for the past 10 years, ever since he left school. The minute he was granted the training to be a teacher, he never look back. As in his heart he has all the passion to teach. With so much of dedication and commitment in this career, he was recently promoted to be a Senior Assistant in a Primary Government Chinese School. Not many teachers of age 32 could be given this opportunity and I'm pretty sure Lim would have the chance to become a headmaster one day.

Nowadays not many males would opt to become teacher. They feel teaching is a feminine job, and the prospect of making big money is very limited. The name as teacher is not so noble as before. Most young people prefer to seek their future in the corporate world, where status and position are more recognised. However not Lim again. He felt that teaching is a passion and he loves to see children grow. I told Lim... Of all the professions, I respect the most is a Teacher. Without my teachers, I would not be what I am today. They taught me how to read and write, they made me to understand what is moral, they helped to mold my character, they corrected my behaviour, I learned from them what's the important of discipline and they taught me all about the world we live in. Though they might not be around any more, but deep down in my heart all my teachers remain in my thought as long as I live. Each time I meet any teachers, be they of any races or nationalities, I will address them as Teacher or in Mandarin I called them as Lau Cee.

To my great friend YCLim, I am honour to be your agent and a friend. With teachers of your special kind who has so much of devotion and love over this teaching profession, you certainly would be able to help our children to face a better future. The future of our country depends on our children of today. Lim, thank you for being a teacher.

Specially for Lim - “Teaching is the essential profession, the one that makes all other professions possible.”
