Pen is mightier than the sword

Selling tips...

Recently while attending our company convention, I bound on a well dressed agent who introduced himself as Lee. He kept calling me Sifu, as master of the trade in selling life insurance. He claimed that when he started selling as a rookie agent 7 years ago, he had attended few of my platform sharing. The learning from me has tremendously, helped him to sell successfully in our industry.

Out of curiosity, I asked Lee what he had gathered from me, which he is still applying. Without hesitation, he took out his pen from his  pocket shirt. Seven years ago I was carrying only ball pen, those which came by three in one packet. They were cheap usable pen which were available in all stationery shops. But it was you, Mr Robert Foo who suggested that a pen is an important tool when we are selling. Selling needs presentation and an effective presentation requires a good indicator or a marker to show. Never use our finger to highlight information. A pen is the most ideal tool to be the indicator when we explain to our clients. Never try to save cost by using cheap pen. To demonstrate your ability and success, a good agent would use an expensive pen. One that all eyes could recognise. After all a branded pen isn't going to cost by the thousands but is certainly going to carry a lot of weight. Just imagine, you are requesting the client to sign the dotted line and his life premium is by the thousands, and you let him hold your cheap ball pen which costs less than a dollar! Clients might loose confidence in you.

Lee was proud to show his pen of black, coated gold by the edge. I know is a very expensive one. His pen reflected his achievement and his powerful voice demonstrated his victory. I too was glad that I had good student who took my advices. Congratulation Lee!

Food for thought - "The act of putting pen to paper encourages pause for thought, this in turn makes us think more deeply about life, which helps us regain our equilibrium" - Norbet Platt quote.

Methods of Love.....

Through the years I learned to understand more of love. Let me share the Methods of Love today....

Kiss on the ear indicates I'm horny.
Kiss on the cheek represents We're friends.
Kiss on the hand is like telling.. I adore you.
Kiss on the shoulder means I want you.
Kiss on the lips... I Love you.
Holding hands is to say... We can learn to love each other.
Looking into each other's eyes... Let's get romantic.

If Maram reads, he might disagree with me or if Wan who reads my blog everyday, he would always says yes no matter what my topics are or if this feminine lady Adel comes around, she might have her own version. I'm anxiously waiting to see who has the guts to tell me more about love.

Finally... The Constitution of Love Code... "If you love someone, show them and say so!"

God's Wife.....

An eye witness account from  New York City, on a cold day in December, some years ago: A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering With cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said, 'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes,'was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No doubt, you will be more comfortable now...'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her. 'Are you God's wife?'

Our brain always expects 100%

Are you aware that God have created all of us with a 100% brain? Our natural instinct always expects a 100% expectation in our lives. We mind not notice it but here let me elaborate further.

Example... If you are buying a bottle of cough mixture from a pharmacist, and you notice the box outside is a bit torn. Would you still buy that bottle of medicine? I guess you would rather choose one with a perfect box's cover. Right? Please don't forget, the box has no medical value. It's the mixture in the bottle that has the benefit and yet you would not buy that bottle with a defect box's cover. Reason... the brain expects 100% quality from outside and inside of the product.

Example... You order a plate of fried rice from a restaurant. The entire meal is perfect with good taste and preparation. While eating, you bite a tiny stone in the rice. Are you not bother with it? Or most likely you might complain to the waiter. The unseen stone is only .001% defect of the entire meal. Throw away the stone and you could still continue to eat. However our brain expects the 100% and reject what is not 100%.

Example... A night market sale is selling cheap slippers to a village. Each slipper is only one dollar per pair, which is considered a good buy. All the slippers are usable, except some with extra colour dots on the surface. You think the simple minded villagers would pick anyone of them, or select the best with no defect of colour. I bet with you, they would search and search until they find the most ideal perfect one for themselves. Though their level of knowledge might be lower, their brain still expect the 100% of what they intent to purchase.

The funny part of life is.. Our brain has been developed with a 100% expectation, but when we give or to share we seldom give out with a 100% of ourselves. Bottom line is, we are selfish too.

The great lady I so admire -“I must be willing to give whatever it takes to do good to others. This requires that I be willing to give until it hurts. Otherwise, there is no true love in me, and I bring injustice, not peace, to those around me.” - Mother Teresa quote.

Sportsman's Double

I'll confess, I ended up with an older woman at a bar last night. She looked pretty good for a 60-year-old.
In fact, she wasn't too bad at all, and I found myself thinking she probably had a really hot daughter.
We drank a couple of beers, and she asked if I'd ever had a Sportsman's Double?
"What's that?" I asked.
"It's a mother and daughter threesome," she said.
As my mind began to embrace the idea, and I wondered what her daughter might look like, I said, "No, I haven't."
We drank a bit more, then she said with a wink, "Tonight's your lucky night." We went back to her place.
As we walked in, she put on the hall light and shouted upstairs, "Mom, you still awake?"

Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa were visiting
Their kids overnight.

When Grandpa found a bottle of Vi  gra in
His son's medicine cabinet, he asked
About using one of the pills.

The son said, "I don't think you should
Take one Dad; they're very strong
And very expensive."

"How much?" asked Grandpa.

"$10. A pill," Answered the son.

"I don't care," said Grandpa, "I'd still like to
Try one, and before we leave in the
Morning, I'll put the money
Under the pillow."

Later the next morning, the son found
$110 under the pillow. He called
Grandpa and said, "I told
You each pill was
$10, not $110.

"I know," said Grandpa. "The
Hundred is from
Grandma!"
