Did I Marry The Right Person?

This is a very good article. Those who are still single may learn something from here... Those who are already married may take it as a guideline to improve your marriage & relationship ...

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?"

I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?"

Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.

Here's the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse / partner . You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... Because it's happening TO YOU .

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Think about the imagery of that __ expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship . Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies , instead of being cute, drive you nuts.

The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?" And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown . People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could.

And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or a spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you.

You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the __expression "the labor of love." Because it takes time, effort, and energy . And most importantly, it takes WISDOM . You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. The right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, just as certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can "make" love .

Love in marriage is indeed a "decision"... Not just a feeling.

Remember this always :

"GOD determines who walks into ur life. It is up to u to decide who u let to walk away, who u let to stay, and who u refuse to let go."

P.S... I hope this article could help some of my clients who are facing their marriage problems at the moment.

Most important part of the body

A wonderful story worth sharing......

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body is.

Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct Answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, 'My ears, Mommy.'

She said, 'No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon.'

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer.

So this time I told her, 'Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes.' She looked at me and told me, 'You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind.'

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, 'No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child.'

Then one year, my grandfather died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry.

My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to my Grandfather. She asked me, 'Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?' I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me.

She saw the confusion on my face and told me, 'This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson.'

She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, 'My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder.' I asked, 'Is it because it holds up my head?'

She replied, 'No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it.'

Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is made for others and not for yourself. It is sympathetic to the pain of others.

"People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel."

To sell without selling

Selling tips...

The highest art of selling is to "sell without selling." One of my most obedient associate who has taken my advices and coaching, had succeeded in not closing cases but rather clients and prospects requesting her to sign up cases with them. Reason; they just love to deal business with her.

Most life insurance agents would sell their products upon meeting their prospects. They are too eager to close cases on their first attempt. They play by the number games, the more people they meet, the better the chances for them. True! This is one common method all salesperson are taught.

My special lady agent whom i trained works differently. On her first visit to all her prospects or clients, she would not utter a word of selling or even talk about her products or services. She had learned to be patience, she had mastered the skill of listening and understanding her prospective customers, she had developed the talent to study the faces of all she met, she had the senses to know the type of mood and temperament of her listeners, she sees through the eyes of the person in front and deter their inner heart and mind, and most important ... she is a willing giver without condition set.

The above qualities of this special sales agent, make all her clients very comfortable with her. They trust her, they like her, they feel great for her and they just want to do business with her without she asking for them. This is what i called...sell without selling..the finest art of selling.

Congratulation my dear! I am glad you follow my advices and i hope all my fellow colleagues would do so and not the normal way of forceful and hard selling practise most of the time.

Chinese Calligraphy

I sent some beautiful Chinese Calligraphy and Art to some of my good friends. Of all, Captain Azhar wrote me a short note.

He said...."When I was in primary school, I was taught Art & craft ( as a subject). In those days, as young boy, I wondered why was it so important to learn Art & Craft. After 50 years, I only realised that the subject is very important, especially to men. In order to go to China for reason of appreciating the "Art", the men (generally husbands) have to be "crafty" in formulating all sorts of reasons in order to deceipt their wives of their trips to China. Hence, the subject "Art & Craft" is very poignant, especially for men who regularly visit China in order to savour the fine arts of that great nation."

Yes! Is true Captain. I think you must be visiting China most of the time now. To be crafty follow his words ... "Imagination is more important than knowledge" - Albert Einstein, Scientist

Is love an emotion or good sense?

The same naughty pussy sent an early morning message, "Blessed morning my sweet sweet dear... People think love is an emotion. Love is a good sense. What do you think?"

This pussy always like catching me in my sleep. Well! Love is my favorite four letter words. Love has emotion of good senses or love has positive emotion. Is like when i say "I Love You" to my sweetheart, i will certainly have a feeling of good sense towards her. And when i say i love my career in selling life insurance, i must have a strong emotion to provide a good sense of services to all my clients.

Not satisfied with my thought, i posted this message "People think love is an emotion. Love is a good sense. What do you think my friends?" on the Gmail Buzz column. There were two followers who like this question posted.

A good friend Dato Merican commented, "Love cannot be defined in just one word. It a feeling-related experience. Where there is feeling there is a degree of emotion. Love can also hurt and the same time time bring joy and happiness. Why? because it goes to the core of your feelings and sensations. Love also creates jealousy. Why? because it nurtures attachment. I can go on expanding on love........so it cannot be defined in just a word."

My dear pussy there, i hope you are satisfied with these replies. Specially for you.. "One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love." - Sophocles

A sweetheart is a bottle of wine.

A pussy asks..they said girlfriend is a bottle of wine and the wife is a wine bottle. Would i agree? I have to scratch my head to get the answer.

Thinking of wine i have to think of women. What makes a wine instill romance? Some wines are sensuous, and can help lubricate the path to passion. They don’t necessarily need to be expensive, or sparkling, or have a nude Marilyn Monroe photograph to be sexy wines. There is a selection of romantic wines that'll put you and your partner in the mood for love any time of year. If you need more ammunition, serve some sexy foods, dim the lights and put on a sexy movie as well.

Yes! Girlfriend is a bottle of wine which instills romance and love. Your girl and wine, both create a life of sophistication and elegance. Sad to say the wife is a wine bottle, when all the wine is taken, leaving only an empty bottle to show. The wife has forgotten the excitement of the yesteryear when she was romantic and loving.

My personal view: whether you are a girl, lady or a wife never allows the bottle to be emptied with the exotic sweet sexy wine you have. Refill and add on, for good wine is always available. Don't be just a wife, be a sweetheart as well. Charles Baudelaire quoted - "A sweetheart is a bottle of wine, a wife is a wine bottle."
