Darn to speak loud with confidence.

Many young friends and colleagues of mine claimed that they are brave, courageous and confidence. I doubt so! I asked them whether they darn to speak aloud these simple words, "Yahoooo! I am great and feeling wonderful!" Looks easy...Right?

Next! I took them to the nearest Starbucks for a nice cup of coffee. I challenged them to speak, preferable to yell or shout on top of their voice, inside the restaurant those few interesting words. No one took the draw. Okay I said! I would be the first one to do it. I stood up, face upward and i threw my voice to the peak...."Yahooooooooooooo!!!! I am great & feeling wonderful!" Of course raising both my arms at the same time to show i was the winner.

These young friends were shocked and extremely amazed. The entire crowd inside the restaurant were staring at me with curiosity, wondering what happened. I just looked back at them, smiled and said Sorry.

I told my friends, this is confidence and braveness. If you are shy, scared and timid, you would never be able to do it. Or perhaps you live for the sake of others and not darn to show the truth of yourself. Selling needs courage. Unless you have these fearless heart, selling would be much easier and fruitful. I suggested to my young friends to practice yelling and shouting in their own bathroom first. Once you have developed the confidence of speaking aloud, you would naturally overcome the fear in public speaking. Sound funny but it works.

Hang in there!

Eleven people were hanging on a rope, under a helicopter.

10 men and 1 woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, Because otherwise they were all going to fall. They weren't able to choose that person, until the woman gave a very touching speech.

She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids or for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return.

As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping . . . . . .

The story was shared by one of my dear who claimed to be a not so clever lady. But in fact, i know she is a sharp and witty person who is as sly as a wolf. Thank you for sharing this joke. Lady is always smarter than man.

High divorce cases

Over a recent discussion with some friends, they were having concern over high divorce cases among the young married couples. On one article, it referred Singapore, a tiny island and our neighbouring country has the highest ratio divorce cases within the Asian region. They scored 60% of divorcing for couples who married less than 5 years. Meaning out of 10 couples, six might break away from their marriages within this period. Alarming! Right?

I gave my reasoning to these group of friends. Singapore is a young nation of brains. All parents emphasize the important of education to their growing children. Not just the sons but the daughters as well. Today all their young citizens are highly qualified professionals with much to aspire and excel. Their intelligence has broadened their knowledge base. And knowledge has created opportunities which allow them to do well in careers and businesses. With much money earned, money would in turn provides power. In the course of pursuing success and dreams, power leads to the weak part of life. Power offers independence and security, but if it is not carefully handle, it could have its detrimental effect. A successful person with a high powerful position might have high expectation in life. More so if they are young and still not very wise yet, they could be arrogance and demanding in character. These are applicable to both sexes.

Coming to these young intelligent married couples, if both husband and wife are high achievers and earners, i wonder whether they could hold their emotion and feeling right all the time. How many could have the patience and tolerance to understand each other when both have the power in hand. Next, have they got sufficient time to be together. Is the busy wife be able to spare her restricted time to make love with the husband. Intelligent men always have strong desire to make love, whereas intelligent ladies might not because they are capable to earn enough and to appease themselves without man. The saying..man has one important need and woman has ninety nine needs.

Conclusion: Less sex higher divorce cases. (Luckily i am not a Singaporean)

Self-confidence is better than paper qualifications

Cherry from Penang, would be having a job interview today in Singapore where many aspiring young Malaysian like to seek employment there. She called me on phone last nite, worried and sad because she had lost her original SPM certificate (High School certificate). She expects to show all her papers to the interviewers. And it's too late to get the replacement from the Education Authority now. The new job is important to her.

This was what i told Cherry. Paper qualifications aren't relevant if one has the personal confidence. Cherry, you have a pleasant and sweet personality which everyone likes. This is not the first job. You had been working for several years, in Penang, Singapore and Taiwan. I am sure you have the experiences and knowledge. What is important now, is to stand tall and to be able to speak your mind. The self-confidence is more important than all your paper qualifications. A good employer would wish to get one employee who could speak effectively rather than engage one who is dumbed. Cherry, i am sure you have all the ideal qualities to be a better employee. Please show your mind and not just the papers.

As for me i only have the walking qualification gained from the Public University of life, and yet today all my successful and rich clients have to listen to my advices. Reason..i am brave, courageous and confidence in all my dealings.

Before Cherry slept, she sent me this message... Thx my dear, u pump in so much confidence and happiness to me. Miss you! XoXo. I wish her best of luck.

The good you do, comes back.

True story...

A woman baked chapati for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chapati on the Window-sill, for whosoever would take it away. Everyday, a hunchback came and took away the chapati. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way: "The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" This went on, day after day. Everyday, the hunch-back came, picked up the chapati and uttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" The woman felt irritated. "Not a word of gratitude," she said to herself....

"Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean? "One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him. "I shall get rid of this hunchback," she said. And what did she do? She added poison to the Chapatti she prepared for him! As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. "What is this I am doing?" she said Immediately, she threw the chapati into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window - sill. As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chapati and muttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman.

Everyday, as the woman placed the chapati on the window-sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For many months, she had no news of him.... She prayed for his safe return. That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway.... He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak. As he saw his mother, he said, "Mom, it's a miracle I'm here. While I was but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by. I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to give me a whole chapati."As he gave it to me, he said, "This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!" As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale.

She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned chapati that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life! It was then that she realized the significance of the words: "The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" Do good and; don't ever stop doing good, even if it’s not appreciated at that time.

THERE ARE ONLY 50 NUNS LIVING THERE.."

THE THIRD GUY SAID, "I WANT TO GO TO NEW ZEALAND ...

ONE OF THE NUNS TURNED AROUND, LOOKED AT THE MEN,

AND IN A VERY SWEET AND CALM VOICE SAID,

"WHY DON'T YOU GO TO HELL ..THERE AREN'T ANY NUNS THERE!"

Comparing & competing can be stressful.

Is difficult to tell a lady she is getting old, especially this one i know so close. Miss Sexy is one of my fellow colleague who always does well in sales. She works extremely hard and willing to take challenges all the time. However she looks stressful to me and i could see aging lines are appearing on her forehead and eyes. She is definitely much younger than me but is so sad to see her aged faster than she should. The main reason which causes this effect, i believe is she doesn't know how to control her anxiety and tension.

The number one killer in life is the 'Comparison of Our Mind'. In our daily life, everything we see have attraction and admiration. Our 'Sighting and Hearing' tempts us for more. We compare the luxury homes of our friends and neighbours, we compare the expensive cars others are driving, we compare the attractive holidays others are visiting, we compare the clothing, wears and handbags which are advertised openly, we compare the best education available for the children and we compare sometimes for no reason. On top of all these, we compare even on our work and career. Miss Sexy is currently competing her sales at company, agency and personal levels. She wants to reach the highest yearly target for company's oversea incentive trips, she wants to lead in her agency sales team and she eagerly trying to achieve her level best personally this year. She is pushing herself very hard and this is already her twenty years in the business. By comparing and competing in everything on her life, without she realising age is catching on her.

How true.. "There is no free ride on the journey of life". The more we toll on our body and mind, the more stressful we would be. The more stressful we are, it would gradually show on our face. Yes! Is good to have a successful life and the better way to reach it meaningfully is to get it without craving for them.

Would like to suggest to Miss Sexy here. With these many years of selling, you should try to enjoy selling as a love and passion, and not to sell to compete and compare with others. Admire those who are doing better than you and assist those who aren't doing well. As long as you sell with a sincere heart, i am sure everything will come beautifully your way soon. If you happened to be reading this title, please don't be offended my dear. I am just trying to make you realise, our work has to be from the heart and not just the mind alone.
