Who is happier, the giver or the recipient of compliments?

Over an agency meeting comprising all adults ranging from 30 to 60 years old, the subject of 'Compliment' was spoken. One interesting lady agent set this unexpected question, "Who is the most happiest person, the giver of compliment or the recipient of compliment?"

Some didn't know how to answer, few said the recipient and one claimed the giver is the happiest. What about you? Before you read further, it might be good for you to ponder over this simple question and yet so difficult to answer!

To me, the happiest person is the one who received. However the receiver could only short lived his happiness which won't last long until he receives another compliment from another giver. Perhaps allow another one or two days to pass, he might have forgotten the entire appreciation rendered. On the hand, the one who constantly gives compliments to others, that particular person would even have more happiness and joy than the one who receives from him. The logic is because everyone loves to see the giver, he is more respected and be more admired as a true friend. In short, the giver of compliments is more happier than the one who receives.

My strongest belief - "The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but on how happy others can be because of you".
