Recently four of my fellow colleagues went for a holiday to The States. They were rewarded for an incentive trip given by the company, qualifying as The Stars Producer for last year. When they were there, they extended the holiday for another 10 days, rented a car which took them to many interesting places in the West Coast.
However the 10 days seemed not a good get together for the foursome. On these few days while travelling, they had quarrel, argument and plenty of misunderstanding. Instead of being buddies, they came home with a sad outlook with a lot of different opinions and views of each other. A holiday is supposed to be a happy event but so sad they came home with much regrets and frustration.
From the feedback, there were much jealousy, sensitive, calculative and uncaring attitude among them, while they were travelling together. The four are champion sales agents who perform extremely well in selling, and have acquired the skill to listen and to understand their customers. But! When they aren't selling, they lost their so called prefect personality to their original self. As successful agents, I guess they are rich as well, which might have also changed their character. When one has no money, he is normally humble and simple but when that same person is rich, he tends to be arrogance and demanding. Serving a customer one could be entertaining and obliging, but when you are with friends and not with clients, the personality might change again.
One of them asked what had gone wrong! The main reason is, there were four captains in one ship and everyone of them wanted to take charge. They were prideful and had so much of self esteem, which in the end turned negative among themselves.
Moral of the story: Good agents might not be good friends. A prefect agent is one who understands how to give way and be tolerance to everyone he meets.
For my fellow colleagues -"And I hope that five years and 10 years from now, I'll be a better
man, a more mature man, a wiser man, a more humble man and a more spirited man
to serve the good of my people and the good of humanity" - Louis Farrakhan quotes
